Peak, Profitis Elias at 2405m

 

There are more than 2 path that leads you in Taygetos peak.

We usually chooce this one that starting from Anavriti, following E4 and passes from the refuge. 

 

Almost every time we pitched our tent outside of refuge as we can not resist on Katerinas' bean soup and Panagiotis' spaggeti (Katerina and Panagiotis are administrators of the Taygetos' refuge), neadless to say something more about their hospitality and thier smiles.

 

On top you will find a small church made by stones, Profitis Elias. But if you are not a "peak lover" you can choose between of many paths that exists around. All as beautiful as the peak ;-) .. a tru story describes that a Greek university teachet and philosoper left life by purpose on a Taygetos' cave, today there are signs to quides you there.

 

We didn't leave our lifes there, but our hearts maybe!
